  • Academics while important are not the base for success, the ability to use what you have learned and apply it to your job are what make you successful, therefore simply studying for 5 hours does not ensure success. In addition, being able to adapt, and have ingenuity is not a skill taught through a teacher or books, yet it is an essential one. Finally, the body needs 8 1/2 hours of sleep to have maximum retention, otherwise, you are just forgetting what you worked so hard to remember.

  • Don't throw all those books away! Recycle!!!

  • I feel the same way... I have video evidence of how studies that take so long end your happy times in school, and for me it's only the beginning because I'm a freshman. If any of you feel the same check out my video on hard work, im sure you'll remember how you felt as a freshman

  • ahaha sound familiar - i used to be a study machine too! wake up at 6 AM study til 10 - 12 PM. Hmmm idk about being happy either trying real hard or not trying at all. Even though I was a study machine I felt very happy when I finish all the task. I also found time to hang w/ my friends - strangely enough. I had a great time but sometimes I wish I didn't have to miss my favourite movie episode xD but still - FIGHTING!

  • studying for tests instead of training usable skills is stupid. that way, the only skill one gets is 'how to be good at tests'. the sad thing is that there ARE innovative teachers around but they have very little to no chance against the system, not only in Korea but pretty much anywhere.

  • I have been taught once (by a gym teacher no less) but what he said meant a lot to me. That if what you are doing in 1 hr helps you learn something new or get better, that 1 hr was considered good work. But if it took you 5 hrs and you didn't really get better or you could've taken 2hrs instead, you just wasted time. Sadly i think that way of living is not good at all and wasting precious life time. I hope things change for the better.

  • wow Seri, im so sorry you have to go through all that :( im studying to be a teacher and i promise ill go to Korea and try to find a solution to this problem

  • T.T i'm happy with my school life.. :D the hours are a lot fewer and still we know a lot from the lessons being taught... Studying for about 16 hrs a day would only make their brain weary and not absorb information.. there is something wrong with their system!!

  • @TimeManInJail It's 9 hours

  • i wish my school life was like that

  • WTF!!!!

    many robots in Korea

  • WTF......................

how long is the exam, they can only put so much in those couple hours.

Beside how fucking fast do they cover? like holy shit no matter how much you study it make them feel like studying 3 grades in 1 year.. holy shit
