A series of DSLR time-lapse sequences obtained in October 2008 and April 2009 at the international astronomical observatory at Roque de Los Muchachos, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain. The rotating observatory building visible in several sequences is the Nordic Optical Telescope, with a mirror diameter of 2.56m. The bright star setting in the first sequence is Venus. The bright star rising towards the end of the second sequence is Jupiter. The Milky Way is prominent in several sequences. The occasional light streaks in the sky are meteors, satellites, and planes.
