My birding-friend believes the adopted baby may be a chipping sparrow, clay-colored sparrow, or a Brewer's sparrow. He leans toward the clay-colored as being most likely. Chipping and clay-colored are found all over the US and Brewer's are in the West. Did you identify the species?

Beautiful video-- thank you! What a thrill to watch the little family grow and to contribute to it... and to see the little adoptee thrive. The adopted baby appears to be some kind of sparrow.
