@dogbert2010 m.mann said it was gonna be part of a trilogy even before filming started,but after all the shit with jamie fox during filming like wanting a private plane to travel and food flown from the us just coz he didnt wanna eat the food on location its fair to say hell will freeze over before m.mann or colin farrell work with that prick again.all of hollywood know hes a prick and hasnt had a good job since.

i hope michael mann makes another miami vice, he helped create the original show. this movie grabbs you and does not let go.. Mr Mann is a born filmmaker

and anyway even though DoJohnson and Phil Michael Thomas are older - why should that matter ???? Why didn't they bring these 2 giants of the tv series back for another movie? Universal would have foot the pay packets no matter what Johnson or P M Thomas would have demanded. Or D Johnsons production company could have bought the rights to produce it!! It would have been possible you know!!!

i actually thought the music was better than the film! The music did have a very latin /hispanic sound and beat - but it was the film itelf which let it down - A) the acting was awful - who cast these guys needs shooting B) the story was awful you couldnt follow it C) Michael mann - could do much better!!

@DanthemanCTU24 I thought it was a good film.. the problem was that those who went to watch it, like me, are huge Miami Vice TV show fans and despite the fact we were told over and over again by Mann and his team not to judge it by the 80's show you couldnt help but do so. Obviously it was never going to compete with the tv show which was and still is a cult to many MV fans around the world so the film was on to a hiding to nothing. MV was all about the 80's so you couldnt compare it.
