t's amazing what happens when the psychodelic camouflage comes off a long-awaited Mercedes-Benz production car. Here's the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the reborn Gullwing, the modern-day successor to the 300 SL. We've driven it, savored the uncommonly sharp throttle response from the 6.2-liter V8 (563 hp, 479 lb-ft of torque) and marveled over the handling -- which is more direct and communicative than any other Benz in recent memory.

  • 258 000 dollars.. Now the americans will go on and on about their corvette being soo much better because its quicker in a straight line again for half the price.

They just dont see the effort and quality that goes into a proper European sportscar.

  • Fucking beautiful

  • well not very many americans can afford a sports car with great leather. me being american i understand that its better to keep performance and give away the luxary to be a sports car. not all sports cars have mercedes interior. corvette is a car made for driving, just for the fun of it.

  • This thing is pure sex on wheels but its performance is disappointing.

  • he said that it had a 6.2 litre v8 and yet it clearly says 6.3 on the side

  • speechless all i can say

  • I AM BUYING........ MOM! dad!

  • Little kid voice.....(THATS MY CAR!) LOL

  • i love this car....but im afraid the Gulwings will take out fingers like no tomorrow

  • In my country its the same. Because were taxed on all kinds of shit like car weight, engine size, output, emissions, all environmental stuff. And american cars score badly on all the above. So a Mustang which may be a cheap way to get a big V8 in USA ends up costing the same as a Porsche in my country. Or a 10 years old Ferrari. And you need to be really into Mustangs to pick one over a F360. A Corvette ends up same price as a Gallardo. There is simply no reason to choose american.

  • @Janusha That's cheap. In Australia, we pay nearly 100 percent luxury car tax, so the price doubles. We get ripped.
