On Nov. 1, 2006, at Adelphi, MD, the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinon, gave a lecture. She focused some of her remarks on the desperate human rights situation in Darfur. Her talk was sponsored by the U. of Maryland University College's Speakers Series. Ms. Robinson is a native of Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland

  • Like, everyone thinks Ireland is a backward country but she was their first female President and she's a huge advocate for human rights, even before she was elected in 1990. She was succeeded by another female president (Ms Robinson didn't run for a second term as she took a post in the UN) who is currently in her second term.

    Do you think Hilary has what it takes to be the first female US President? (This isn't a jibe. I actually quite like Hilary, but want to know your opinion.)
