In the that case, the Bouncy Tekno is best. Its mostly geared towards younger children. Age is a huge factor. ^^

So in the end I didn't bid. Come to think of it, I guess
I should have. That toy attracted just a couple of bids,
winning at 4 pounds.

I asked for the insurance to be waived, but
she didn't seem to like it, saying she could not give a refund
without it if it was lost in the mail (5 pounds insurance for
a risk of 3 pounds ?)
Moreover, that puppy also had a lot of bad reviews about its
incessant walking and barking, nose sensor won't stop it
unless it actually bumped into something right there, inability
to turn, reverse, etc.

There was a Teksta (which the British Teknos are
called) the Robotic Puppy, the taller dog shown at
the beginning of the video, on auction by a British lady
just about the time of his birthday last month, with a
starting bid of just 3 pounds.
However, she insisted on insurance, which would come
to at least 4 or 5 pounds, more than the starting bid if I had
won it at that.

Thank you again.
He just passed his 3rd birthday on the 28th last month.
Kinda like a belated birthday present now.
(His father shows favouristism towards his elder brother
and has never bought him a single battery-operated toy
since he was born, while the older boy has received
virtually dozens. All his battery toys are from me.)

--originally $50. I honestly have no idea why the price shot up this year.
How old is your nephew?

Well, the Tekno shown in this video was the "Bouncy Tekno" a newer model, but it gets a lot of bad reviews because for one thing, its magnetic ball and bone fall out of its mouth seconds after sticking them on, it won't respond to anything, and it has little bouncey spams and doesn't move much. However, you can find it at Toys R Us, Amazon, and many other online stores.
Then there are the old original Teknos, which are pretty easy to find. They're pretty fun, but do not respond to voice--
