Angatoo lives in hechuu, Ethiopia. She is member of a girls club that fights female genital mutilation. She is circumcised herself and recollects her memory on that day.

How sad that this precious young lady was harmed, but it's beautiful that people can be rational and step up and say "THIS ENDS with my generation." She is my hero.

Intact genitals feel REALLY good.

Every boy and girl must be allowed to make their own decisions (after attaining adulthood) about which body parts they should have amputated.

All forms of Circumcision is Evil & Retarded, it's against Human Rights and it should go extinct! Is god not perfect?! If god wanted this, why doesn't he come down to earth and do the procedure himself to people! this is a general reaction of people who have experienced brutalities in their lifetimes. If you see any videos of children in siera leone or kongo discribing how their arms or legs were cut of or rape victims of the same area you will be surprised to see that they seem to smile and talk about it, like it wasn't a big deal. The truth is that these people experience so many hardships in their lifetimes that they have somehow become indolent. Genital mutilation IS wrong and must stop

Have you ever noticed that members of weird cult groups do the same? They are taught that (whether in reality good or bad) that what they are doing is good and often that it pleases their god in some cases. you can teach a child anything, you can teach a child to weild a gun and shoot at people and like it, you can teach a child that hurting other people is ok, you can teach a child that hurting themselves is ok. Same thing with this issue, just because you think it is ok doesn't mean it is.

But maybe she's right? It happened to her, she's not bitter about it, she recalls it with a smile on her face, she isn't angry. Indeed, she seems to recall the procedure with some fondness.

So maybe it isn't a violation at all, but an enhancement?

Indeed she speaks as many who are circumcised do, as if there was no big deal about having her genitals forcibly cut. This is part of the problem with cutting children. As with other forms of abuse they accept it as normal, when the culture around them supports it.

Circumcision remains a brutal sexual violation children, even if many do grow up to laugh it off.

I thought she was speaking in favour of the custom - she's smiling, and doesn't seem remotely upset about it. The thought of the mustard and butter that forced her to pee even seemed to entertain her - happy times!
