Islam has always given rights to women that are almost equal to men rights. Of course men are not equal to women in some ways. One gender can handle one thing that the other gender can not. So there are very little limitations that won't even stop women living.

Talk about rights? Were not the Westerns that didn't allow women to work just 60 years ago? Whereas Islam has always allowed since the birth of the Quran.

Under Sharia Law, a woman's legal testimony is worth half that of a man. I think that answers your question pretty definitively but one could also throw in the glaring limits on rights in divorce & child custody and the obscene Sharia 'jurisprudence' concerning rape and adultery which definitively places women subordinate to men.
