"5, 4, 3, 2... 2... 2, 2, 2..."
My birthday is the day after christmas. This year, as presents for myself, I sold a bunch of instruments and bought some new ones. I got a nice epiphone les paul guitar, and an alesis dm6 electronic drumset (highly recommend it). I'm not much of a drummer but I'm learning. This is my first video with all my new instruments.
This song never did much for me at first. Seemed kind of boring. It's short too. But I started liking it a lot better as I thought more about the lyrics, and the composition. A lot of the ideas here are super cool. I love the counting that gets stuck, and the whole idea behind an office suicide makes for such desperate yet unassuming lyrics. So anonymous and innocuous. It's really poetic.
Please forgive the poor timing/drumming in a lot of parts. I'll get better. This is just my first venture into true full-band recording.
The tracks are: (recorded in order)
1. Acoustic Guitar
2. Fretless Bass Guitar
3. Electric Guitar
4. Lead Vocals
5. Backup Vocals
6. Electronic Drums
the electric guitar melody is super beatle soundish
