  • @dartord I was raised baptist, and indeed this is one of those old school, hold 'em down, shouts. The kind that used to scare children... you just weren't sure what was going to happen next. They don't do that much these days. This is back when we just shouted maybe once a month-- I think it would be all bottled up, then the holy ghost would take over.

  • I can feel the presence of God so heavy as I watch this video! This reminds me of when I was a lil boy in the Baptist church. Those type of songs had power. Simple but yet profound. I love it and will do all I can to fuse the old with the new.

  • @rdsweet YES THEY ARE...SORRY TO SAY MY GOOD FRIEND THAT WAS THEY ORGANIST PASSED LAST WEEK. HE WILL BE MISSED SO MUCH.

  • @mrhammondb3 Hi. Great news you bring. It must be the first album. One song on it for sure is "To My Father's House." The female lead had a big afro at the time.

  • @WBFbySteefen i have all 5 of the soulchildren albums including the first 2 that was on a private label back in the 70s, u can check my page i posted the 2nd album (sing something old & something new) i think thats the one u talking about if not i will be posting the first one soon.

  • This brings back memories. Love that ole school Baptist shout! Gone and holler a while! LoL! Too funny. Miss that kind of spirit-filled singing / service.

  • dang no one gets in the spirit like that anymore, people just stare and look smh ..or maybe the anointing isnt really there anymore ..dik

  • I thought it was earlier than 1974. On another video I see they were founded in 1969. So, I'm sure, I heard them between 1969 and 1974 also.

  • @steven2312 I used to go to the Albert Hadley Soul Children concerts, I'd say approximately 1974 to 1978. They even had an album (which I wish I could get my hands on). Those concerts were quite good. A picnic tragedy befell the Soul Children between 1978 and 1982. I'm grateful to find some video of the beloved Albert Hadley. Trust me, their earlier years were memorable.
