"Just forget I called," she argued into the receiver.

"No! Tell me what's going on!" He argued on the other line, utterly confused.

'Nothing! Now, I'm going to hang up, so don't be surprised when you hear the dial tone,' she replied.

"Wait! What-" The dial tone cut him off, telling him she hung up.

He would've called her back if he knew what her number was, but sadly she always called from a restricted number.

He paced around his room as he stepped on dirty laundry that was supposed to be in the hamper, he kicked it towards the other side of the room and he remembered he had texted her a couple weeks ago. He could at least speak to her from that number.

She stood sitting down on the carpet floor in her room.

Calling herself names in her head.

Telling herself that she was dumb and stupid to let a person waltz into her life, come and take her heart. Angry she was never able to let go, even though he had already moved on.

Her one of her "friends" she has known since the fourth grade told her to admit to the guy she liked, her true feelings for him, and if she, didn't her friend would.

Now here she was, she was sitting on the floor of her room, alone at home as her family went out to the store as she let somebody come a puncture needle pins into her, letting the blood flow down until there was no more to drip and fall.

She didn't know what she was feeling.

The past months have been a blurr to her, pain and numbness becoming her main feeling, becoming vulnerable at the last moments, and depressed and lonely.

She had gently let the subject glide, waiting for the big question to finally reveal. She couldn't handle the time and just cried into the receiver.

She didn't know what had overcome here, but now as she sat down, she regretted it.
