Sukhoi's T-10 Flanker family of combat aircraft is without doubt the outstanding design in the final generation of Soviet Cold War era systems. Since the fall of the USSR, the Flanker has continued to evolve and is now by far the leading Russian military technology export. The Flanker has been exported globally, and the Asia-Pacific now boasts the world's largest inventory of these versatile and highly capable combat aircraft. China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia now operate or have ordered variants of the Flanker.

Sukhoi Company (JSC) (Russian: ОАО "Компания "Сухой") is a major Russian aircraft manufacturer, headquartered in Moscow, famous for its fighters. It was founded by Pavel Sukhoi in 1939 as the Sukhoi Design Bureau (OKB-51, design office prefix Su).

It comprises the JSC Sukhoi Design Bureau located in Moscow, the Novosibirsk Aviation Production Association (NAPO), the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO) and Irkutsk Aviation. Sukhoi is headquartered in Moscow. Finmeccanica owns 25% + 1 share of Sukhoi's civil division. The Russian government merged Sukhoi with Mikoyan, Ilyushin, Irkut, Tupolev, and Yakovlev as a new company named United Aircraft Corporation. Mikoyan and Sukhoi were placed within the same operating unit.

Sukhoi's Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Su-30, Su-34, and shipborne Su-33 aircraft are in service with the Russian Air Force and Navy. Sukhoi attack and fighter aircraft have been supplied to Armenia, India, China, Poland, the Czech Republic, Iraq, Slovakia, Hungary, Georgia, East Germany, Syria, Algeria, North Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Iran, Angola, Ethiopia, Peru, Eritrea, and Indonesia. Venezuela signed contracts for the purchase of 30 Su-30 fighter jets in July 2006. More than 2000 Sukhoi aircraft were supplied to foreign countries on export contracts.

  • muy buen video, felicitaciones.

  • Sukhois are great for airshows, because they are big and maneuverable, but what wins engagements is technology and sophistication of electronics and that is something that the west will always have superiority over. So even though it might be good for movies I would much rather be inside a Super Hornet or comparable western aircraft when it comes to combat.

  • This would be a GREAT aircraft for Canada!

  • Did you know that one of the sexiest TV star , ex-"girl from page 5 presenting naked weather ", Simona Suhoi aka Simona Sensual, from Romania, is the great great niece of Pavel Sukhoi? It's kinda ..weird for me :))

  • Dear Santa...

  • very good !!
