This song is from Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis, and was created by ear. Only a couple more stage themes from Sonic 1 left for me to do.

Mario paint composer is a free download from the unfun games site, available here: http://www.unfungames.com/mariopaint/

For the OST see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cy8BDipACE&fmt=18
This mario paint video was taken down by youtube for a short time for some reason and now it can't be posted as a video response.

  • Nice job!

This was always my favorite Sonic level (and song at that!)

I have no idea why this is one of the first related videos to my Mario Paint song... It's completely different...

  • How'd you do that by ear? That's incredible! WTH, it sounds just like it.

  • i know this videos kinda old, but would you happen to have this in bass clef

  • Nope, the super nes does not sount as great as sega genesis. Listen to both versions and you will see. Not trying to insult the composer of this remake. Keep in mind sega genesis has better sounding music. Because of the yamaha sound processor in it.

  • This is not a nice job, this is an EXCELLENT job. I like it.

  • I like this as much as the original Star Light zone! In fact, it sounds just like it. Thumbs up to you, bahazis! ;)

  • @bahazis That's pretty good that you're able to do that! Well done.

  • @Denji2006 all mine are done off ear or. I'l post them as soon as I can get a sound card to record with.

  • Amazing!

  • Nice job. I actually know this song from listening to it in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. It's my favorite song in the gallery jukebox.

  • When I say "by ear", I mean I have an mp3 for the song and by listening to it I try to match it. So I'm constantly referencing the original song, but I don't have the actual notes in front of me.

  • It's not hard to look up the sheet music on the net and do this yourself. You just copy note for note and figure out what sound makes what on Mario Paint. I'm pretty sure most of these aren't "played by ear". I would say "by ear" if the person was playing an actual instrument.
