@djc0247 I thought so too, but when i was over in Sweden i saw an Opel that was almost a dead ringer
for a VT Commodore so i am pretty sure thats where GMH got their design for the VT commodore.
by the way the VT was 97 the VE was 2006.

Whatever happened to all those beautiful little HB Toranas? My brother still drives his LJ Torana and his wife drives a UC Torana. Pretty good, well-made cars.

Sorry, but you are wrong about the Torana HB being an Opel design.
This is an Australianised version of the Vauxhall Viva HB out of GM's British subsidiary.
At that time, Vauxhall and Opel ran separate and independent engineering and design departments.

Its an OPel German designed not Australian like I grew up believing! Same goes for ALL the Commodores Opel GM, called Vauxhall in britain! only in 2006 with the VT Commodore did Auatralia Design and buid its own car!
