This looked like the very ABC (US) studio that "The Lawrence Welk Show" was taped from. The Welk organization said that the studio was being converted for color and Welk shot his show from the Hollywood Palace during that time (1964-66). Coincidental (or not), this was the same time that "Shindig" was taped for ABC. If the Welk studio was used for "Shindig", I bet the Maestro said "I'm got going to use de same studioa as those long-haired boysa and screaming girlsa".

I saw a 'package show', Oct'66. Amazing then, more amazing now. Hollies, Yardbirds w/Jimmy Page, Young Rascals, Cyrkle, Beau Brummels.
