Practicing Qigong outdoors amongst trees is not only a natural combination, it is a potent and joyous one. Karen Fletcher shares her knowledge of how energy flows through our bodies with movement, as well as how to enhance that flow with elements such as stones, trees and being barefoot on the grass.

Having taken this class I can tell you that it really does help you tap into qi (or chi) in an exuberant, fun way. Running across the grass barefoot is a pleasure that adults don't engage in nearly enough. The class meets on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. on the hill across from the Green Lake Bathhouse. Cost is $10/class.

Karen, a cultural anthropologist who speaks Mandarin Chinese, began studying Chinese healing in 1995, learning tai chi, qigong and Buddhist meditation.
