I recently remembered the song I've written for a theater play a few years back. It seems timely for what has happened in Maguindanao...and although I mourn with the rest of the country, I do believe that there is light at the end of that tunnel, light amidst the darkness that has enveloped the hearts and minds of fellow Filipinos...we only need to wake up from the illusion that we are powerless. We are powerful beyond measure, if we decide to be. And with this authentic power in each Filipino, we can have justice, peace and love back in our lives, back in the life of this country. And together we will all create the New Philippines with New Filipinos who will never be victims nor oppressors, but advocates of Oneness, Healing, and Love for one another. Tunay na Pakikipagkapwa! Tunay na Bayanihan sa Bayan ni Juan!
