We head out to Malta, Illinois to find the first seedling mile of the Lincoln Highway. The very first concrete paved section of coast to coast highway. I talk to LJ about possibly doing some Parkour at the post office in Rochelle Illinois.

  • Is this still something that you are thinking about doing. It sounds interesting

  • @moose3971 Due to LJ's heavy work schedule it may be modified some. We went to a restored 20s car park in Aurora this summer. It was used on the old Lincoln Highway. It's posted on my channel here.

  • @suburbanryder Ok thanks, oh do u ever sleep, you seem to always give such timely responces. Ride safe my friend.

  • @moose3971 I go to bed around 11pm and get up around 6am. I just have my computer in the main room so I see my email notices pop up during the day unless I am out riding or doing a side job.

  • I love seeing another POV! So fun. It fills in gaps, and is just cool in general. I love how completely different our trains of thought are the entire time.

I can't wait to do this series, though. It's a fantastic idea!

  • Yes, I noticed a lot in your second part that we pay attention and focus on different things a lot.

That is why it will be so great to work together on this project.

  • Yes it would. I don't know if my budget or time would allow for that but possibly someone could. Maybe also a kind of hand off tag on the different state lines and another group rides on. Lots of ways to do this and things to think of.

  • I do! :) Yeah Chuck, I can send you the footage from my memorial day trip back to Indy, I was on Linconway for 40 some miles until just south of southbend. :) It is yours for the project. :)

  • Awesome! I can take I-495 to get there the quickest. I-495 locally known as "The Blue Route" because of the color used on the map with an ink pen when proposing several routes to link I-95 to the PA turnpike.

I can easily record a portion of Rt 30 for your project and send it to you in HD format.

  • Yes It is the same Rt. 30 that runs coast to coast. Look on wikipedia for Lincoln Highway and Route 30. They follow roughly the same path with some exceptions in places. See if you can see in your area interesting history along either path and join us next year when we start the project.

  • There's a route 30 near me that goes through Lancaster, PA. Is that the same route 30? The thing about it is, it splits in one place for an expressway and business 30.

Anyway, it's not far north of me.
