Interesting that they're going UP main street as opposed to down like every parade I've ever watched since I was a kid.

I believe this was Memorial Day 1954 and the uniformed general was General Dean who was being honored after being a captive of N. Korea. I do not know why he came to Lewistown. The chopper was from malstrom. I was one of many cub scouts who marched in the parade but were not shown in the film. The parade ran backwards because of the plaque unveiling. I believe I had an older sister as a flag twirler in the white uniforms. Other scouts were Paul Weideman, Andy Johnson, Ray Eck. John Baird

@fergusflash Thankyou very much for all that information! That's really neat that you were in it. I'm glad you answered some of the questions. You are probably right on with the day and year.

hahaa, yep. You're the 2nd person who brought that up since I uploaded this. it is a weird feeling. Maybe it was just for this parade, since I do have other parades on film from the same era with them going down the street. Youtube has fizzled out alot of the awesome detail these films have. The ambulance has one scary guy in it, but it's hard to see his haunting gaze after it's been youtubed.

That looks like it must be from around the mid 1950s, I don't see anything newer then about 1954 parked along the street. The jeeps, tanks, and uniforms look like something off of MASH, Korean war era There must be a dust bunny inside the projector, I kept seeing this same shadow on the right side of the frame.

@OlegKostoglatov 16mm projectors with a sparklin' clean lens wouldn't be near as fun. :)
