  • I think lots of people also forget, that it takes time and practice to become an acceptable artist.

Friends of mine when they see my art often go like "Wow you're so good at drawing! I'd never be able to do that! when I draw it looks awful"

and they seem to forget that I'm drawing passionately since im 5 years old or so. it doesn't just go like POOF and you're an artist.. sure some people are born with a certain talent.. but everyone needs practice.

  • Why go to art school if you can have Mark Crilley? :I

  • @hamster5545 can be , but it depends on ...how many people like it .... same as mark said it in his bad time story ...its not easy but when you give up then its a fail

  • @Kuakusi haha vey true. c:

  • Can I become a comic book artist if I am not that good at drawing, but only good at cartoons?

  • Your a hero to me, I improved so much, thanks Mark.

  • I don't think you are born with the talent to draw, you are born with the passion and vision to draw

  • NONSENSE!! There is no such thing as "talent that you're born with to some degree"!!! There's no fine art gene. Search the DNA helix and you will find nothing that dictates your ability to play the violin. Check out the book "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. Not one classically trained musician made it without ENORMOUS amounts of work, and who studied as much as the masters, became masters themselves.

  • I 150% disagree with Mark's assessment of whether anyone can be a master artist. In the sense that most people aren't willing to put in enough hard work for a long enough time, this is true. But that is a choice. Most people make the choice never to master anything. That is not the same as declaring that they do not have the ABILITY or the capacity to become masters. Those with a burning destire to maximize their potential will, and those that don't will not.

  • his Doodles but my best artwork to shame...

  • i draw cartoon stuff

  • U sound like kermit sometimes
