I finally found this! For forever, it seemed that it was an illusion - nobody I happened to ask recalled it. I'd listen to my little transitor radio at night in the early to 60's,(when I was supposed to be asleep) in the suburban Boston area. I'd memorize the top twenty artists and songs every Saturday while I was doing my chores, whether weeding, raking leaves, dusting etc.

@MrThankYou0325 LOL Guess you had to be there. This eggplant is a metaphor for the wave of psychedelia sweeping the nation. Many other songs on the LP were banned from public play because of strong drug references, IE "How Lucin Ate". "Lucin was a Chinese man who half the time was straight. But on day for a special price he bought a bag of powdered rice. After just an hours wait, that's how Lucin ate." The LP was an underground party record. It was more about message than music.
