What is a sandbox?
A Sandbox is a wide open area for experimentation and creativity, where you can build things, or rez existing things in your inventory. Like in childhood, sandboxes let you discover the joy of building! From the World Map you can search for Sandboxes. Combat Sandboxes allow you to test weapons and fight in a permitted space. There are no-script Sandboxes as well. Be sure to read the rules posted in each sandbox. Linden-owned sandboxes are public, PG-rated spaces. If you want more information about the Sandbox, Click the Sandbox name to get About Land info. There are also Resident-owned Sandboxes. Sandboxes tend to be popular, and can be a good way to meet and collaborate with others. Some Resident-owned Sandboxes have bonuses like textures and clubs to join. Have fun exploring Sandboxes!

you forgot to mention that objects only gets returned if they are no copy items :)

The Linden Sandboxes have been no-rez for quite some time. Bethel for example.  Maybe they have plans for these regions?
