The first test on an open field of a hovercraft I designed and built. It uses a 120 cc 2 stroke engine developing 14 HP (Raket 120 from www.radne.se). The craft weight is 50 kilos. Thanks to David Lesage for his help. Thanks to Universal Hovercraft (www.hovercraft.com) who introduced me to hovercraft design with their plans (I built a UH11T in 1985).

  • dwhat is powering the lift fan

  • Radne Raket 120 powering both lift and propulsion. lift fan is powered via a shaft and gearhead from a forest clearing saw (like a big weed whacker) this provides the transmission from rear to front and the 30 degree angle gear drive.

  • HOLY CRAP HOW DID YOU BUILD THIS?!

  • How much did this thing cost you?

  • This thing is sweet. How fast does it go?

  • Actually it's very sensitive but a good pilot can get it to track perfectly (I'm not the best at it) however the advantage is that you can get to stop or go exactly where you want because it's so responsive.

  • hahahahah

  • sweet, that looks cool. Small and fast but was it bad at tracking or were you just not used to operating it at that point.
