I would be willing to bet that derailment happens often.

This is why I love foreign steam. Horrible track, rusty, decrepit old locomotives, but still soldiering on doing their jobs.

Its really cool how that steam engine runs so clean. No black smoke bellowing out choking everyone

It saddens me to see such an interesting little engine so poorly maintained... :(

Have you ever cought an accidnet?

Theres a couple of engines with the 2'6 inch gauge for sale here in america.

I love how beat up the track is,it looks like the engine will fall of at some points, But that little 0-8-0 must have some power....little drivers.

Rock & Roll.
The engine look pretty heavy - must be hard to set in back on track every time... ;-)

Ride'm cowbow! I thought for a moment that this was one of the suger cane r.r in Java! lol! Unfortunetly, even hear in America there are many short lines, and some main lines that are almost as bad. Thanks for all your great fimls on China rail, and hears wishing everyone a prosperous New Year. Best wishes from The Pacific N.W.
does this line still operate steam?

Apparently not, from what I recall it operated only a few months after we were there in late 2006. There was word at some stage of going diesel - then trucks, but I don't think either eventuated and unless it's been reopened, I think it's gone too. Having said that, this line has previously closed for months before reopening.
