Fifty years since the Amnesty candle began to shine a light on repression, the human rights revolution now stands on the threshold of historic change.

People are rejecting fear. Courageous people, led largely by youth, are standing up and speaking out in the face of bullets, beatings, tear gas and tanks. This bravery -- combined with new technology that is helping activists to outflank and expose government suppression of free speech and peaceful protest -- is sending a signal to repressive governments that their days are numbered.

But there is a serious fight-back from the forces of repression. The international community must seize the opportunity for change and ensure that 2011 is not a false dawn for human rights.

  • That Roma guy is real funny as he says other slovenian citizens should just give them something but he would never work for anything. If I could I would give all Roma people who do not accept western way of life their own country and see just how well they would manage it with their way of life. It just isn`t possible to simply move from one place to another stealing and begging for stuff like in the old ways.

  • The problem with the Romani people is that they always were nomads who travelled from one place to another earning money as entertainers but also stealing stuff. Now they are stuck here and their old lifestyle is no more possible in Slovenia. Some accepted western way of life but those who did not also refuse to work. They still get some money from the country though and this sparks tensions between them and other citizens who have to work for it.

  • people should stand up and fight for the protection of Human rights.

  • Electronic manipulation of the brain is the largest threat to human rights of the century. Already, tests are being conducted on private citizens in colleges, on private property, and more. Manipulation of brain functions, nervous system, and more, enables control, conditioning, and brainwashing of private citizens, often without their knowledge.

  • Electronic brainwashing and harassment is now being conducted in the United States. Freedom of thought and speech is uprooted on campuses, private property, and more. Computer to brain interfaces simulate psychic communications, visual data, internal dialogue and audio without the consent of the humans effected.

  • people are growing together - as have the single cells building complicated organisms in the end...violence will be out -no longer necessary- one day....let*s hope

  • The world should review our unalienable Rights through the prism of science, presented in my channel video. A renewed understanding of these Right being part of the Laws of Nature, and knowing these Laws trumps mortals in power at any scholarly or political level; may put forth a new paradigm throughout the human experience and help make this world a better place to live.
