"All I Could Do Was Cry" was recorded by Etta James on the Chess label in 1960 and reached #2 on the charts. It was included on the album, At Last!, and on the CD, 20th Century Masters: The Best Of Etta James (Millennium Collection) on MCA.

@Mrcee215 Some of us prefer Etta's vocals and rendition just as they are, and her original rendition doesn't need to be any "better" than what it is. And that is not a diss of Beyonce.
