Robert Reich has served in four national administrations including those of Presidents Ford, Carter, Clinton, and Obama. He addresses why income and wealth have become so concentrated at the top --more concentrated than at any time since 1928 - and the consequences of such concentration, both for the economy and for politics. Then addresses what, if anything, can or should be done about it. Series: "UC Berkeley Graduate Council Lectures" [4/2011] [Public Affairs] [Show ID: 21029]

  • @KnightxxArrow I think your probably a pauper.. but even if not, w that arrogant a-hole comment in the face of reality, I hope one of the millions of poor men takes everything you got and leave your body on the side of the road.

  • You work hard, you get money! Work is good! People who make alot of money should deserve it and it should not be taken away from them. Don't be jealous that I drive a Mercedes and you drive a Honda!

  • Reich is a fool. The economic problems he relates are caused by the very government action he advocates. All he can do is call for more of it.

  • @gloryboxlock You would only have a point of the whole world were competitive in the same AMOUNT.

Also you seem to be appealing to the idea that 'since it's natural we should accept it'. Which is the naturalistic fallacy, if we were to live like in nature we'd be cavemen who on average died in our 30s. It is because we do unnatural things that society is good. We don't measure good in terms of naturalness but in terms of what our minds like which is usually empathy values desires in that order.

  • @stadsfrikkie Amen, Brother. Let's mobilize behind the 99%ers and take America back from the 1% in the wealth class.

  • 4 rich bastards watched this

46 low income earners watched this

2356 middle income earners watched this

150,000,000 Americans have not yet watched this and should....

  • @Jeronimosdc Anyone who studies history can see that the future society will be much much much more like socialism.

But the power elite, the guys in charge dont want that. Because a socialised system means that you get what YOU NEED. But you dont get anything more.

  • Do you really want solutions? Im not talking about temporary fixes, I mean actual solutions! If so, start thinking outside the box...start thinking if capitalism is still good for our times in your everyday life. We must learn how to connect everything with the system and how it can be improved!

You might want to watch ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD. It makes you think big time!

  • The American people are obsessed with Competition, which makes up the largest part of their entertainment. All the Reality shows...Professional Sports...Hollywood's Academy Awards...Music's Grammy Awards...the list goes on. And with this Competition there are Winners and Losers. The American people Endorse and Sanction the entire culture of Winners and Losers. So how is this ANY different in the Economic realm? This is what the American people want! Winners and Losers....and that's exactly what

  • Well, I couldn't agree more...
