Hospitals vs. Dan Burke

Here's what went down. The local opener was playing way too long.... so the Hospitals decided to start their set while the other band was still playing...which is possible because the Hospitals play on the floor. Local legend/promoter Dan Burke was none too pleased with this and decided to interrupt the Hospitals set...which resulted in mayhem.

I do not know Dan, but I have heard nothing baut bad things about him!! I toured for years so I know what it's like to be tired from driving 8+ hours, only to have the "local rock stars" play for 2 hours!. It was the promoters job to tell the opening band to cut it, when he didn't they had every right to start to play!! For the people calling John a pussy for hitting him with his guitar....did you not see the dick hit him with a snare drum? I would have cracked his fucking skull too!

If this is how the Toronto scene still exists I feel for them. Dan Burke sounds like a shitty promoter and probably deserved a lot of what came to him. I doubt Toronto had anything to offer as far as any music, because from the sound of it Dan B. and his shitty opening band are in no way to be found in any good music scene elsewhere. John Dwyer on the other hand seems to be doing very well. I give it up to him for doing what he did. Promoters shouldn't ber trying to pick fights with bands.
