A small Oklahoma town is banding together to save its unlikely mascot: an 80-foot-long, smiley-faced concrete whale built 40 years ago in a pond off Route 66. CATOOSA BLUE explores the whale's rise and fall -- and recent return to popularity -- through archival images and interviews with friends and descendants of Hugh Davis, who built Blue the Whale as an anniversary gift for his wife, Zelta. The community invites us to its first-ever Lighting of the Whale, beginning a new chapter for what Catoosa Mayor Rita Lamkin calls 'Mr. Blue, an international icon.'
That was Awesome!!!
