Here's a close up view of a codling moth larvae (worm) that is a real pest for apple trees, etc. These worms bury their way into the core of an apple, eat the inside, and the fruit ends up falling prematurely. The same worm climbs back up the tree and destroys another fruit. This process goes on and on until your yard is littered with rotten apples all over the place.
