As a londoner I can say I was disgusted with the rioters. There was no reason other than a sick lust for criminal activity. Was so pleased when the normal, everyday people got together to patrol the streets and aid the police. That's what veing British is about, fighting for our cities.

Except the army killed people by accident, and most of the time it was the RUC that was sent in and the army on standby in case of any shootings.

But keep in mind... all that was 20 years ago. Thats a heck of a long time to be saying they are still trained.

The army are not trained to deal with riots. It would of just resulted in people getting badly hurt and then we would have to spend thousands on their health care.

The police did a good job, and nothing is perfect. Maybe we will learn, maybe the TA could start riot training. Then that would be a good option.
