Its LAghurudra. There is onw other Rudram bigger than this. The chant emits vibration which are beneficial to us.

Very Beautiful and Divine

Om Nama Shivya

Lord Siva is the Lord of innumerable crores of Brahmandas or worlds. Isvara united with Maya gives rise to Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra out of Rajas, Sattva and Tamo Gunas respectively, under the command of Lord Siva. Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra are the trinities of the world.

yes princegoutham.very well said.Adi Shiva is the Parabrahma. He is formless, infite and ever blissful. He uses his inner divine potency called Mahamaya or Shakti to create.Shakti is also known as Goddess Rajarajeshwari or Goddess Lalitha Tripurasundari. And Goddess Rajarajeshwari then creates all the worlds and she also creates Brahma,Vishnu,Mahesh.

This the intro to Rudram. One part of Chamakam (sham chame mayashchame...) is chanted in the intro. This would be followed by Namakam and then Chamakam, during which that part of Chamakam would be chanted again.
