PLEASE READ THIS AFTER YOU WATCH THE VIDEO...Very Important Information...
Statistics show that 90% of all children's car seats are incorrectly used or installed! To find a location to get your carseat installation inspected, go to:
http://www.safekids.org/certification and click on "Find a Technician" on the right.

**********NEWS************

We have begun a non-profit foundation recently in honor and memory of Kyle. (please view our new video on YouTube.) You can find the webpage here - http://www.kyledavidmiller.org
Our mission is to keep children in a 5pt safety harness up to 80lbs - we are accepting applications from families who cannot afford to purchase these car seats and are supplying those seats through the tax-free donations you can make through the site. We also have car seat safety information posted and will answer any question you have on car seat safety through the contact webpage. Please visit the site and help keep as many children safe as we can.

Please note that the Britax Regent, Britax Frontier and Sunshine Kids Radian 80 are the ONLY 3 car seats that harness up to 80 pounds. There is a lot of confusion about this because some car seats will convert to a booster and show a higher weight limit but that weight limit is for the booster mode, not the 5-point harness mode. If you do not have one of these 3 seats, please check your car seat manual if your child is over 40 pounds and you want to keep them in a 5-point harness to make sure your seat allows it.

***NEW NEWS***
The Kyle David Miller Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of http://www.HipMonkey.com
- You can now purchase Britax, Sunshine Kids, Safeguard and Recaro car seats and many other baby/children's products from Hip Monkey and the 100% of proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Kyle David Miller Foundation to go towards purchasing car seats for children in need!! Please visit HipMonkey.com and help support children in need through your purchase!

Video Info:
My son was killed in a car accident last year because a senile, 78 year old woman ran a red light and hit us causing us to flip into a ditch. Kyle's seatbelt came unlatched during the roll and he was ejected. His seatbelt was later examined by several experts who determined it was faulty and told me that seatbelts can and do fail, especially in roll over accidents. I had no idea that seatbelts could fail and think that this is something everyone should be made aware of. The government also needs to be more strict about making sure the people they issue licenses to are fit to drive...

  • I watched your video and am so very sad for your loss. I have a 5 point harness Britax and have it anchored but not tethered. As soon as I press post on this message I am going outside to tether my daughter's carseat...Thank you so very much for this video. I also had been thinking of getting a booster for my husband's truck because it would be so much easier than switching her seat from my van to his truck. I won't be doing that either.....a million thank you's

  • In August 2005 my son was born and it was some time after that I saw your tribute to Kyle posted on BabyCenter. It is because of this tribute, because of Kyle that we kept both of our children extended rear facing and my eldest who will be 6 is still in a 5 Point Britax booster even though most of his friends are in the seat belt ones. Thank you for sharing Kyles story. I have thought of Kyle so many times over the years and I will never forget him, ever.

  • purplefreak954 If you know that your one year old cousin is in such serious danger of death from even the slightest accident like this, it is you DUTY legally to report this to C.P.S. You could also call the police department while she is driving. The police will come quickly as they KNOW the danger as well. Please don't hope it will be okay and stand with regrets at a small grave. I hope this video sticks in your brain.

  • Good video! by the way my sis tried this famous weight reduction plan named: Impact 790 Diet and got rid of 16 pounds within a month. I don't remember the site just Google it.

  • @madrigaltogrrrl Yes its danderous and illegal but im not the driver im not responsible for her. I put her in a carseat every time i drive

  • @purplefreak954 this is not only dangerous, but ILLEGAL. that baby needs to be in a car seat EVERY TIME she is in the car.

  • I am so worried. I am not yet a mother but my baby cousin rides with us some times. She is never in a car seat. She will be turining one next month.

  • Thank you for sharing. I am terribly sorry for you loss. I am not a mother yet but you have just taught me the most important information I could have ever received from this video. May your child rest in peace. Thank you so much! :)

  • All I want is to make a good descion for her well-being. I am only a teenager (at 16) so I do not have a job to go out and buy one as I have to focus on my life and my school work. My parents say that is it my cousin's choice to use a car seat or a booster seat (though my parents did buy that one cosco one just to shut me up). It was 40 bucks. I'm not sure of carseats laws in the state I live, but she is such a little girl at 26 pounds...All in all I just worry.

  • (continue from previous comment) Her shoulders on the harness are just at the top slot. Would it be safer for her riding in an improper harness car seat that goes below her shoulders or an evenflo booster seat that she is one inch too short for by 1 inch and 4 pounds too light to fit the MINIMUM requirements. This is saying that she does not figet while riding in the booster. I do know the best car seat is the one that fits your child and vehicle. So which is better the booster or the carseat?

  • Anyhow, I have a question to fellow people watching this video. I know of a child (my second cousin) who is 37 inches tall and weights 26 at 4 years old and 11 months. They have a booster seat for her that is rated for use at 30 pounds and at a height of 38 inches. So she is one inch too short and 4 pounds too light. They refused to buy a 5 point for her, so I made my parents go out and get a cheap one. Well The carseat installs with a marginal fit. (I tried latch and it was worse).
