Video from United Nations University showcasing Mr. Akimori Ito from Blest Corporation in Japan who invented a revolutionary machine that transform plastic back into oil and therefore reduce greatly the CO2 footprint.
In other word, everyone at their home can create 1L of gas for their car with 1KG of plastic !!

  • Re: Energy Efficiency

It is very efficient at only 1kW/h per 1L produced. To put this into perspective, a modern energy efficient refrigerator from GE requires about 571kWh for a year to operate, costing the consumer on average of $61 to operate the appliance for the year. But the refrigerator runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This conversion machine uses a fraction of the energy and is only turned on when it is being used.

  • How can I clean the planet producing more garbage which will be released in the air? Or how much slectricity is necessary to run this?

I think, it isn't the solutuion for the all garbage. We have to change our life way!

  • Great Idea, but no solution. You accelerate the decomposition of plastic in order to burn it as oil; so, at the end it will go to the atmosphere as CO2 anyway. It can also work as an excuse for people to produce and consume more and more plastic increasing the addiction to oil.

  • how much for one of those machines?

  • This guy deserves the high award possible!!!

  • I only have one question; how much energy does it need to run? Is it generating enough oil to actually make itself worthwhile?

Oh, also, how long until this can be used as standard, assuming it is worthwhile.

  • great concept, but im just curious how much electricity it costs to run this. :P

  • is that really possible, cause if it is then you just saved the world akimori!
