well wetting might work. but really what you should do is have a spotter. someone that can see both sides of you and can let you know, and put you out, if you happen to catch yourself on fire.

Hey would you recommend wet your hair or your clothes before you firespin? I would like to try but I don't anyone who can, so I dunno if there are any "safety tricks" or something.

you re impressive, about the cathedral wrap, what's the difference with a regular wrap? does it make more fire?

More air gets into the wicking and therefor makes the fire burn brighter, but on the downside the burn doesnt last as long.

I'm a self taught spinner, although I do teach others. The poi are Kevlar/Cotton flat wick in a cathedral wrap. I'm burning White Gas which burns clean (no smoke) and therefor it goes out much faster then Keroseen. I usually spin with a mixture of fules but that night it was pure White Gas. The song is by Infected Mushroom...
