Danke für dieses Tribut an einen tadellosen Kapitän. Nach Studium des Falls hat Hartenstein und seine Mannschaft, sowie U 506 und U 505 an die 1041 Menschen gerettet. Leider sind dem amerikanischen Flugzeug-Angriff englische und italiänische Soldaten sinnlos zum Opfer gefallen.

With the movie Laconia Hartensteins action will be honoured like in this video.
I was surprised to see the foto taken by my uncleofficer Leopold Schuhmacher on U 156. Thanks for using it with the name. In thebook "Vom Fähnlein zur Fahne in den Tod", is a lot of information about all the facts.
