Justin didn't say the "gifts of the Spirit" had ceased by stating that he was a soft cessationist; he instead leaned towards the belief that the "sign" gifts had probably ceased with the Apostles and Prophets of the New Testament era (the first 100 years of Church history or thereabouts). I take the same line in that many of the "signs" we see today in charismatic circles are fake. The Spirit gives many more gifts than just the "supernatural" sign gifts!

Jack Deere wrote a book showing spiritual gifts in the ministry of Spurgeon (word of knowledge) and various Scottish Reformers. He focused on Covenenters 'Prophet Peden' and John Wishart (who mentored John Knox.) I have also read of John Knox operating in certain gifts, word of knowledge or prophecy.

I am so glad to have found you all on your website 'Saffron Planet' and now on youtube. It's nice to put faces to voices.
In regards to this video I hope the next part will delve a little more into those verses where it says...
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
