The Long War - Part 3

A video essay covering the beginning of the U.S. global war on terrorism, the genesis of the war in Iraq and the mistakes that were made along the way. "The Long War" is a term coined by Bush Administration officials referring to the war against al-Qaeda and other extremist groups. The conflict with Iraq is considered to be a part of The Long War because of the alleged connection between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussien's regime. This conflict is the first war of the 21st century and is highly complex due to the amorphous nature of the challenges that face the United States. This video essay covers the events of the Bush Administration's response to 9/11 to the current situation the Obama Administration is facing in Afghanistan.
