@Jerque2012 Why in the world if your child was doing just fine in a normal public school would you pull your child out and send them to a Charter School. Here is a clue, you don't find charter schools in the wealthy neighborhoods with quality schools and quality students.

@Troubador33 What makes you think doing a professional job is "taking the fun out of teaching." Anyway, teaching isn't about having fun, it is about developing our children so they can sustain the society in the future. The current educational system is a death sentence for the future.

@FloridaRaider You must be a public school Statistics and Math teacher. Just what would you expect if your sample is the worst of the worst students out of a Public School? Charter pull the worst children out of public schools, increasing their average, and the charter schools get the worst of the worst, so their average is way below the Public School that benefited from them boosting their average by taking away the kids that drag down the average.

if you guys want to judge this school from a stupid reporter fine go ahead but you dont know what its made of. 8 months ago i commented on this video the day it came out and i was surprised. i still attend this school and it really has changed my life. i was doing horrible in my previous school And at this school for the first time i got straight as all year. im in 7th grade now and im surprised how this school can change a life so fast. im grateful that i found this school and lucky to be in it

His goal is admirable but I think the pressure he puts on these teachers to perform and show positive results right away is a bit unrealistic. I love the higher standards and the attention to all aspects of teaching, but I just wonder if he may be a little to quick on the trigger. Teachers have to be given time to adjust as well. 90hr weeks doesn't prove that a teacher loves the profession anymore than a person working half those hours. How long b4 he can't get ANYONE to take that job?

I see some scary things in this video. We might as well have drill instructors engaging and focusing classes. 11*17? That's what calculators are for. The standards we use now are from a time when computers were the size of buildings, time to upgrade our standards. Take a lesson from the Fins and get into applications. They are beating Chinese and Japanese robot students by going outside and applying what they are learning.
