Gone with the Wind: A story about how a group of elites in the world saw their easy-going, life-of-reiley lifestyles come to an end, despite the fact they asked others, such as the army of Northern Virginia, to go to their deaths for them.
IT's so much better than portrayed here. Get the box set.. even a version with someone talking over the movie telling you lot's of info, sometimes too much... I have'nt even played the backstory dvd's yet.. I hope mine doesnt have Jessica Lang in it..
Ooh, looks good. As it happens, I already know I'm getting Gone With the Wind for my birthday. But, unfortunately, it's not this awesome version. It was a cheap triple feature with Casablanca and Doctor Zhivago as well. No special features for any of them, but it's worth it just to get all three movies! If anyone could post bits of the special features, that'd be great.
This is a really awesome commercial, y'know? It's film quality lol.
Because up until this time, Vivien Leigh was largely a stage actress (who had done a few movies) in Britain. She was "unknown" by the general American audience, who was mostly rooting for Tallulah Bankheah, the authentic Southern woman, to get the part of Scarlett O'Hara.

I highly recommend the DVD with the documentary which is about Selznick as much as the movie he made. The tension behind the scenes was unreal.
