Some of Zelaya's 'crimes': He raised the minimum wage, gave out free school lunches, provided milk for babies & pensions for the elderly, distributed energy-saving lightbulbs, decreased the price of public transportation, made more scholarships available for students. He increased teacher's salaries & fixed the roads. He put schools in remote rural areas that never had them before. He let anyone go into the Presidential Palace and converted it from an elite residence to the people's house.

C Amer. political analyst Alberto Valiente Thoresen cites Honduras '82 constitution as a flawed compromise of US gov supported counter-insurgency policies, civil façade military governments & undemocratic policies. In assembly of elected representatives from various political parties & social sectors, a new more progressive & inclusive constitution would have big impact on country's corrupt politicians, powerful sweatshop owners & repressive military institutions. Obama and the U.S. are not God. They do not have the right to tell other countries how to run things. They do not have the right to impose capitalism or "democracy" on other countries as they see fit. The reason the world has never known peace is because we cannot stop judging everyone and everything in this world.
We are 6 billion different people with 6 billion different opinions. Your opinion or your country's opinion is not God's word. Stop judging because someone disagrees with you.

Eliminating term limits, and installing yourself as president for life are completely different, situations: One would have to be incredibly stupid, or perversely dishonest to claim they're same thing.

The government declared the "vote" illegal! The referendum to change term limits is illegal in Honduras! He was looking to rewrite their Constitution to install himself as President for life.
