Megapixels are irrelevant when doing video at lower resolution.
In fact, theoretically you get a better picture from less. The less megapixels the more light can be captured per pixel and so the quicker and more accurate the exposure.
Sadly though, most VGA cameras do not take advantage of the above benefits as they are of such poor/cheap manufacturing.

Considering the component being that size, on a device of that size already, That is impressive quality.

That is a very good image coming from a 3Mpx camera (of course the video's not going to be 3Mpx).

well it is only VGA... i think it's great! much better than other phones... i mean, i know it's not a HD Minicam or anything but heck what do you expect?

According to their website, this video was taken with an Apple 3GS phone.Video quality appears pretty good but not exceptional.
