The road block stuff goes both ways. One night me and my dad were out chasing (we were both with the same dept.) and we rolled up on a shooting (were just going that way). Well the officer knew us and asked us to block traffic because they didn't have enough police on scene. 5 minutes later guys from my dept. show up on one of the engines and take care of the other end.
fire covers basicaly everything. therefore we would b there.example.last summer there were 3 kids misin n it was said that they were in a corn feild,so who found them after lokin.thats right fire.they used a thermal image unit n found the bodies. police didnt call fire in, fire responded 2 the disbatch call right away.but its cool make stupid comments tryin to seem like u no EVERYTHING about every station everywhere.r u that old n gifted to of worked at every station there is?wow ur a legand.
I have a hard time believing you are a firefighter after that comment. Either you're not a fireman or you work at a slow station. So, you guys get dispatched to person with gun and kidnappings???There isn't a fire department in the U.S. that would be dispatched to a call of a person with a gun or robbery in progress, unless requested by police or somebody is injured. So at your department you guys are the police and fire, that 's cool. I didn't know they started combining the two.Hows the pay
what station are you working at? the one i was at went to EVERY call that included a gun or kidnapping etc. police are not at every fire. they may go to some to block roads and do the easy work, but thats basically it that they do with any kind of fire call, unless fire asks them to do something else.
I want them to dispatch fire/emt instead of the police to the next person with a gun call, robbery in progress, kidnapping in progress, person shot (fire/emt do respond to when the scene is secure.) CSA in progress ECT.....While police are the first to respond to any fire because they are out on the street already. Police need to be at every fire, but when fire shows up, fire takes control of the scene.
and actually, we would be there, cuz if they are getting beat, most likely they will need an emt, and emts well at our station most are firefighters as well, and they may need a lift assist.....and they dont actually call the police or firemen...they call disbatch..who then get the information to who ever it needs to be to.
God created firefighters so cops can have heros
