I think the problem is that while the violent, fundamentalist, extremist Christians or Muslims might be a minority, the majority of Christians and Muslims who wouldn't hurt their nieghbors remain strangely silent while their violent counterparts are doing their worst. I've also noticed that a lot of not-so-extreme Christian friend forward a lot of emails with messages that are fairly warm to the more violent, extremist elements of Christianity. Religion is a problem, even moderates are trouble.

Couldn't agree more! The moderates support the extremists by their silence and the rest don't want to appear 'rascist' or 'bigots'. This leads to a minority of the population having their views over represented. Here, the Church of England along with other Christian churches say nothing to dissuade Islamic, Hindu or Sikh religious extremists as they are getting ALL religions more prominence and power. I fear this will eventually lead to a violent face off between them.

No, I'm just saying that I'm not anti-Muslim as individuals, I am anti-Islam as an ideology though, as it is not compatable with western liberal democracy. You can believe whatever you like as long as you don't start asking for special treatment.

I think that when resources become scarce and the population can't be supported by the economy with basics like food and fuel, there will be violent exchanges between groups based on race and religion. Not, like now, more like all out warfare.

I wish it weren't so, but us Homo sapiens tend to behave well in times of abundance and poorly in times of scarcity. Us and them, same and different, white and brown, catholic and protestant, christand and muslim, we will face off like like great apes.
