@mandkbell I think for the most part they're not - the close of 6/24/09 showed Lower Manhattan at near full darkess; also I was atop the ESB the other day at apx. 5:15 - there were a couple stationary choppers in the air to the NW, and if one was for NBC News, it was capturing what was an absolutely glorious sunset over the Manhattan skyline this past Thur evening, and perhaps that tape was inserted at the end of the broadcast
