As has been said, corporations don't make decisions, people do. James Hardie, for you it may not have been personal, but for people like Bernie Banton, it was absolutely personal. Bernie Banton was a warrior for the rights of his fellow human beings, but perhaps his greatest achievement and his gretest gift, was his forgiveness.

  • Thank you Jo for such a beautiful tribute to Dad and all victims of this insidious substance.

I will be definitely keeping a copy of this video, to one day show Bernie's (eventual) grandchildren the role model and hero, whom I was lucky enough to have as a father.

    Thank you again Jo.

    Kind Regards,

    Dean

P.s. I would have posted a lot earlier I'm sorry, but it has been only up until recently that I have been able to watch through the entirety of clip. It is very moving, it gets me every time!

  • What a fine tribute to such a remarkable man.

  • Fantastic tribute to a fantastic man! xoxo

  • inspirational x god bless x

  • He really was a remarkable man, and if only in and for his memory, I could never vote for Tony Abbott who disrespected Bernie

  • @DeanBanton90 Your dad was an inspiration Dean. I had the pleasure of meeting him once and I remember his warmth and passion so vividly.

  • People need to be reminded this this whole problem is because of the company CSR

Why is CSR never mentioned, only James Hardie - a company that was itself only offloaded when CSR understood they would be held liable in the future for the problems of Asbestos

James hardie dealt in the finished products...CSR owned James Hardie, owned the mine where the crap came from...and was 100% involved

    Sue CSR!!!!!!

  • i cry

  • Thanks for sharing this video, Bernie Banton didnt want to give up this campaign to support Asbestos victims, so RIP Bernie.
