The event kicks off Friday, from 4 to 9 p.m., and continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday. Farm Expo will feature new and old favorites, including an 1850s Farmstead presented by Exchange Place, the First Frontier Quilters of Kingsport, the Little Kids' Tractor Pull, Turkey-Callin' Contests, the Sunday afternoon Ice Cream Social, and Sunday Singing featuring the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Band.

Don't miss the teenage Karaoke Contest with Larry and Evelyn, starting at 5:45 p.m., Friday. Adults, 20 and over, will take the stage Saturday, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in both age groups.

Sponsored by Lawson Kubota, the Farm Expo will feature the latest farm, lawn and garden equipment, products and services, farming and gardening seminars, and plenty of more family events. The Convention Center will be filled with trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, all-terrain vehicles, horse trailers, balers, and a wide variety of farming and gardening-related equipment and products.

The kids' area will open for the weekend on Friday at 5 p.m., and includes the 4-H Playland and Petting Zoo with live farm animals. Kids will also enjoy Meet Elsie and "Guess my Weight Game."

For the ladies, Mattress Firm is sponsoring the Country Fair and Ladies Market, featuring clothing from Wiseman's plus vendors selling garden décor, homemade soaps, candles, jewelry, purses and natural cosmetics.

Local agricultural extension agents and master gardeners will present farming and gardening seminars on Saturday and Sunday. Topics include "Cooking on a Budget," "Using Coupons," "Growing Vegetables Out of Season," and "Hay Quality." The extension agents and master gardeners will be on hand to answer all your farming and gardening questions throughout the weekend.

Members of the Appalachian Whitetail Association will score bucks at no charge all weekend, plus provide deer scoring workshops on Saturday. Prizes for the best bucks will be awarded on Sunday afternoon. To compete in the contest, bucks must have been harvested this year.

Representatives from the Kingsport Carousel Project will be on hand providing carving demonstrations and recruiting volunteers for various aspects of the project. Members of the Kingsport Farmers Market will be selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
