From Wikipedia

The An-225 Mriya (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-225 Мрія, NATO reporting name: Cossack) is a strategic airlift transport aircraft which was built by the Antonov Design Bureau, and is the largest flying airplane ever built. The design, built to transport the Buran orbiter, was an enlargement of the successful An-124 Ruslan. Mriya (Мрія) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian. Two An-225s have been produced.
The Antonov An-225 is commercially available for flying any over-sized payload due to the unique size of its cargo deck. Currently there is only one aircraft operating but a second mothballed airframe is being reconditioned and is scheduled for completion around late 2008.

  • I think I saw UFO at 00:05

  • the Soviet Antovov is the standard bearer for cargo transporter

  • The mans face @07:35 makes me laugh

  • @MrNowwhatido i hate to burst your bubble, but the b52 is not even close. the b52 is 160ft long, the an 225 is 275ft long, the b52 is 40ft high, the an 225 is 59ft high, the b52 has a wingspan of 185ft, the an 225 has a wingspan of 290ft, and the list goes on! i thought the b52 was the biggest but i checked out their specs in wikipedia and i was suprised!!

  • i saw this wonder of flight when it flew into my city, las vegas nevada usa, a few years ago, i'll never forget seeing it come in and waiting all day till night to watch it take back off, it was delievering a 180 ton transformer, and the part i remember the most is that there was a boeing 747-400 parked just off to the left of it, and compared to the 225 it looked like a cessna parked next to a c5, how to imagine how big it is till you see it in real life, IMPRESSIVE AIRCRAFT !!

  • but i think the b52 is the biggest

  • @johnmw13 It's radar signature is exactly the same as an Antonov 225.

  • i just wonder.... is it economical?

    XD
