This is my canoe that Atkamik natives of Quebec Canada helped build, it is made of birch bark and cedar and laced together with spruce root and pine pitch at the seems. There are no more Iroquoise canoe builders left that I know of probably do to the cutting of old growth birch trees by logging companys in upstate ny. I am trying to preserve the traditional ways of our people for the future generations. Living two worlds.
